BRIAN MCKEEVER COMPETED IN CROSS COUNTRY SKIING AT THE 1999 CANADA WINTER GAMES IN CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR, AS PART OF TEAM ALBERTA.

Brian is the world’s most decorated Paralympic cross country skier and Canada’s most decorated winter Paralympian. Since 2002, he has competed in six Paralympics and has won an incredible 20 medals, 16 of which are gold. Additionally, Brian has competed at every World Championships since 2003, winning the event 20 times.

In 2007, he was named Best Male Athlete at the International Paralympic Committee Paralympic Sport Awards and received the Best Male Athlete award at the 2014 Canadian Paralympic Sport Awards. In 2011, he was inducted into the Canadian Disability Hall of Fame alongside his brother Robin. Brian was Canada’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Paralympic Games in 2018.

Following the Beijing 2022 Paralympics, where he won gold in three individual events, Brian announced his retirement from cross country skiing.
